A request for information about called out to assist a bariatric person
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 13th May 2016
Please find below a summary of our findings.
- How many times were West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service called out to assist a bariatric person in the past four financial years? (separated by year: 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16)
Please see below
|Total number of calls requesting assistance for a bariatric person||13||24||16||10|
- What was the total cost of responding to calls to assist bariatric people in the past four financial years? (separated by year: 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16)
West Midlands Fire Service does not record the cost amount for bariatric call outs, so it is therefore exempt under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information 2000 Act. However it is possible to calculate a notional cost for call out by applying the charging mechanism that is used to calculate special service call charges.
Please see below for the cost of a Pump Rescue Ladder for a special service calls for 2010-14.
If you wish to calculate a notional incident cost then this would per approximately one pump rescue ladder for one hour per call out.
- Please give details (date and description) of incidents recorded in the most recent financial year 2015/16, if within the time limit allocated by a Freedom of Information request.
Please see below for the date and station area for the bariatric incidents attended in the last financial year.
