A request for information about our attendance at Birmingham Gay Pride 2016
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 31st May 2016.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
During Birmingham gay pride on Saturday just gone, a BRV and a PRL was at the parade for most of the day. Can you confirm if the station was unmanned or if other stations covered? If covered please confirm which station and what type of vehicle
After consultation with both Fire Control and the Pump Rescue Ladder (PRL) driver on the day, I can confirm that on Saturday 28th May, Ladywood’s PRL and Brigade Response Vehicle (BRV) attended Birmingham Pride. The BRV was an operational vehicle, manned by firefighters on duty that day. The PRL was Ladywood’s normal appliance with all of the equipment removed. The people riding this appliance were volunteers not on duty that day. The equipment was put onto a reserve PRL which was based at Ladywood station, manned by the usual firefighters on duty.
