A request for information about animal rescues 2013-2015

Ref: FOI/16075

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 8th June 2016.

Please find below a summary of our findings.

The number of incidents involving animal rescues for each of the last 3 years. (2013, 2014, 2015)

Please see attached. FOI16075

The number of appliances at each of those incidents and how long each incident lasted (to establish a cost).

West Midlands Fire Service does not record the cost amount for animal rescues, so it is therefore exempt under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information 2000 Act. However it is possible to calculate a notional cost for call out by applying the charging mechanism that is used to calculate Special Service call charges.

Please see attached for the cost of a Pump Rescue Ladder for Special Service calls for 2013-15.

If you wish to calculate a notional incident cost then this would per approximately one pump rescue ladder for one hour per call out.

The number of false alarms for each of the last 3 years. (2013, 2014, 2015)

Please see attached

The total number of incidents for each of the last 3 years. (2013, 2014, 2015)

Please see attached
