RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 20th October 2020.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
1) Bournbrook fire station have not had their Volvo appliance for some weeks now what is the problem with the vehicle and when will this likely to be returned?
The appliance has been at our Workshops of repair and maintenance and will be returning back to station shortly.
2) please can you confirm how many new Volvos and brvs are on order, when these will be delivered and to what stations
At present there are 5 Appliances on Order and are due to be delivered in March 2021, there are no BRV’S on order. The 5 stations are, Bilston, Perry Barr, Woodgate Valley, Oldbury, and Foleshill.
3) can you confirm in the last 12 months what stations have had their BRV / PRLs disposed – just station name is fine
PRL’S disposed of Canley Foleshill Binley Wednesbury. Kings Norton
4) on a BRV or PRL if crew face a threat I.e violence do they have a red panic button like the police do on their radios? What happens in fire control when the button is pressed is there a member of staff assigned to this
There are red panic buttons on all radios. Fire control operator(s) who are monitoring the channel will answer the radio and will take decisive action.
