RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 19th May 2020
Please find below a summary of our findings.
I am writing to see if you can also provide mean scores for the online tests (numerical, verbal and mechanical), or preferably a composted, by specific ethnic group (e.g., Asian, Black, White).
I would need sample sizes, means, and standard deviations to make sense of the data. Could you provide these for the last 12 months?
Please see below.
These are the results of the numerical, verbal and mechanical tests undertaken in the last 12 months as requested:
|Ethnicity||Number of Candidates||Average||Standard Deviation|
|Asian or Asian British||94||5.45||0.99|
|Black or Black British||68||5.25||0.92|
|All other responses*||16||6.00||0.89|
|*Other Ethnicity, Prefer not to state and Not Stated have been combined due to the small number of candidates.|
