RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 7th August 2019
Please find below a summary of our findings.
) Please provide the number of incidents involving fire engines hitting pedestrians or cyclists broken down by calendar year for the last five years, including 2019 to date.
2) Please provide details of each incident, including:
- the reported cause (ie reckless driving, adverse weather conditions etc.).
- whether individuals (including fire brigade staff and members of the public) were hurt and what their injuries were and/or if there were fatalities.
3) Please provide details of financial compensation to the individuals (including staff and members of the public) involved. If no compensation figure can be given for individual cases, please provide a total figure for the year.
WMSF have carried extensive searches of our databases and no records have been found of any incidents involving fires hitting pedestrians or cyclist.
