Our commitment to fulfilling the General and Specific duties placed upon us by the Equality Act 2010 and also meets the statutory requirements set out within the Act. How accessible is our website?
To help us make the West Midlands Fire Service website a great experience for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 to measure our pages and content against. We believe our site meets the AA standard for accessibility and constantly review content to ensure this is the case. Additional features
To further improve the accessibility of our website, additional features such as British Sign Language are available on core pages such as safety information and how to contact us. Pages with British Sign Language Translation will have the BSL symbol located at the top of the page.
An alternative language system is also available, providing Google translation services across our entire website in 103 different languages. This can be accessed from the footer area of all our pages.
