Senior Surveyor

West Midlands Fire Service are looking for a temporary Senior Surveyor (12 months to cover maternity leave) to join the Facilities Management Section.

The role is challenging but rewarding and presents an opportunity for an experienced Surveyor, construction contract manager or construction project manager to further their experience.

Working hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £44,632 – £46,464

Applications from candidates who can demonstrate experience across multi disciplines contained within the built environment including planned maintenance, contract management, procurement, budgetary control and staff management would be welcomed.

Predominantly responsible for all Revenue works (planned works, responsive maintenance and maintenance contracts) you will oversee the management and development of the current Surveying team and support staff. You will be responsible for organising and controlling repair and maintenance work on all Fire Service buildings, therefore an essential part of your duties will be to oversee and control budgets.

You may also be involved in land acquisitions, property disposal, planning and design for both Revenue and Capital projects.

Applicants must be fully conversant with construction legislation.

Applicants should be educated to Degree level, HNC (or similar professional qualification) or have gained relevant suitable experience from a similar role.

Applicants must have a valid driving licence and their own car.
