Organisational Development Manager

They will contribute to the design and delivery of people and organisational development strategies and the management of change in support of the organisation’s strategic and operational plans, providing information, advice and services as required.

Working with teams across the Service, but particularly People Support Services, to support a programme of continuous organisational performance improvement which helps improve organisational effectiveness.

Employment Type: Temporary

Duration of employment: 18 months Fix Term

Job location: West Midlands Fire Service Headquarters, 99 Vauxhall Road, Nechells, B7 4HW

Working hours: 4 days per week

Salary: £44,000 per annum pro rata

Being able to understand the organisation but not be constrained by current thinking or approaches. You will have the ability to understand the current values and beliefs, maintain the areas that create cohesion and improvement whilst having an aligned vision of the future cultural requirements.

You will be able to think creatively and have the key skill of being able to link complex information and see through to underlying causes. You will be highly inquisitive, asking critical questions in order to understand people, processes and culture. You will have the ability to challenge people positively whilst maintaining strong professional relationships.

You will be able to work alongside the leader of Human Resources but operate independently and with a focus on organisational development. You will have high levels of emotional intelligence and be able to work with a wide range of people, engaging and recognising sensitivities, opportunities and challenges. You will have experience of developing organisations, teams and individuals to deliver and a track record of delivering change.

An Organisation Development qualification, or equivalent professional knowledge gained through the significant experience working as an OD specialist or as an HR generalist with an OD focus.
