Fire Engineer

West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) is the second largest Metropolitan Fire Service in the UK and our aim of Making the West Midlands Safer is at the forefront of everything that we do.

We currently have an exciting opportunity available to join our specialist Fire Engineering Team within the Protection department at WMFS. The team covers all fire engineering and Primary Authority Scheme (PAS) related project work on behalf of WMFS.

This involves considering fire engineered design solutions as part of the Building Regulations consultation process for major projects across the West Midlands and support our partner’s requirements through the PAS.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and who will be able to foster good relationships with other professionals, Authorities and third parties to facilitate and undertake work.

The successful candidate will be someone who possesses a fire engineering degree with experience in evaluating fire engineered solutions in the built environment, has a good understanding of fire engineering related design guidance and good working knowledge of relevant regulations.
(Consideration may be given to someone in the process of completing a fire engineering degree through a conditional appointment.)
