Employment Type: Full time

Duration of employment: Temporary, 18 Months.

Job location: West Midlands Fire Service Headquarters, 99 Vauxhall Road Nechells, Birmingham B7 4HW.

Working hours: You will work to the flexible working scheme and on occasions, some out-of-hours work may be required to meet the needs to the Service.

Salary: £38,813-£40,760

You will have developed a sophisticated understanding of the legislation and practice for safeguarding adults and children. You will have the leadership, credibility and management skills to quality assure and develop our existing practises and processes and make recommendations to the Assistant Chief Fire Officer People on improvement. You will be the subject matter expert for safeguarding and be open to professional challenge from within the Service, the fire sector and other partners.

Demonstrable Supervisory Experience
Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or considerable broad relevant role-related experience
Relevant safeguarding training at level 4 undertaken within the last 2 years and this must be maintained.
Knowledge of local government and public sector governance and policy making structures.
