Your role as a Fire Safety Officer will be to ensure that the West Midlands Fire Service legislative requirements are met under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, deliver Protection priorities, and support businesses through Better Regulation.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable, responding to emerging opportunities in line with strategic objectives of the organisation. You will need to be forward thinking and able to contribute to individual and team goals. It is expected that you will be able to remain calm in high pressure situations, making sound decisions based on applicable guidance and legislation.
This role attracts an essential user’s allowance and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle will be required.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have had experience in at least one of the following areas – Licensing applications, Fire Safety legalities, Fire Safety auditing, Fire Safety training or Planning and Building Regulations applications. A proven track record of working with others, demonstrating personal accountability and team working skills are required. A sound knowledge and understanding of Fire Safety, its legislation and its applications is necessary.
