A request for information about bariatric incidents between April 2009 – March 2018

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 10th May 2018.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Could you please tell me how many call outs you received to remove obese patients from their homes over the last ten years.
In each case please make clear whether you were called by paramedics or called from the home directly.

Please find attached the list of bariatric incidents between April 2009 – March 2018 18071. Unfortunately, bariatric incidents pre April 2009 were recorded differently, so in order for us to know whether it was a bariatric incident it would mean reading through loads of incident logs, which will exceed the appropriate time limit set by the ICO and therefore I would have to issue a fee notice which will have to be paid in full before I release the information. If you would like me to issue a fee notice please do inform us at the earliest opportunity.
