West Midlands Fire Service hold a range of recruitment and awareness events across the region.
Careers Fairs
We attend careers events at schools and colleges, where our Recruitment Awareness Advisers are available to give careers advice and answer any questions you may have.
Awareness Sessions
These sessions aim to give you more information on West Midlands Fire Service and the role of a firefighter as well as other careers and opportunities we have to offer. As well as operational roles (firefighting), we have a wide range of careers in: transport, finance, learning and development, risk management, engineering, human resources, media/marketing, catering and public relations. The Awareness session will comprise two parts: Part one will contain an introduction to West Midlands Fire Service and an overview of careers available. Part two of the awareness sessions will focus on the role of a firefighter, the recruitment and selection process and some interactive firefighter experiences (where available).
Female only Awareness Sessions are available as part of our positive action initiative to encourage women to attend our sessions. Please call Helen on 0121 380 6231 or helen.elmore@wmfs.net for more details.
Dates and venues for our monthly awareness sessions will be posted in February 2010 and we anticipate that Awareness Sessiosn will re-commence in April 2010.
Women only Fitness sessions
